The MacMillan Foundation helps South African women who faced hardships in the past to study Architecture at an advanced level. This program looks for smart students who need money to finish their degree. The foundation pays for one year of university fees & gives students extra help through mentoring. They want to make sure these women feel ready to start their careers as architects. The support includes both money and guidance to help students succeed in their studies & later in their jobs. This program makes it easier for talented women to join the architecture field when they couldn’t afford it before.

Selection Procedure
First we look at all applications to make sure they have all the needed documents and meet basic requirements. Then we pick students based on their grades how much money they need and if they match what our Foundation wants to achieve. Sometimes we need to talk to students to learn more about them or ask them questions. At the end our Trustees decide who gets the award. Students who are chosen must sign an agreement. After that we work with their university to pay the money.
